Future-Proof Your Fleet with Goltens

At Goltens Green, we help the maritime industry reduce emissions with innovative solutions that improve fuel efficiency and meet environmental regulations. From engine optimization to energy recovery, we support sustainable, efficient shipping for a greener future.

Our Solution Offerings

Sox Scrubbers

Goltens Green Technologies provides full-service solutions for SOx scrubber retrofits, from feasibility studies and 3D scanning to design, prefabrication, installation, and commissioning. As an independent partner, we work with various scrubber technologies to deliver tailored solutions for all vessel types, ensuring compliance with global emission regulations while optimizing operational efficiency.

SCR Systems

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems are a proven solution for reducing NOx emissions and ensuring compliance with IMO Tier III regulations. By injecting urea or ammonia into the exhaust stream, SCR systems convert harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen (N₂) and water vapor (H₂O) through a catalytic reaction.

Goltens Green Technologies offers end-to-end support for SCR retrofits, including feasibility studies, 3D scanning, engineering, prefabrication, installation, and commissioning. As an independent retrofit partner, we work with various SCR technologies to provide customized solutions for all vessel types, helping shipowners meet stringent emission regulations while optimizing engine performance and efficiency.

Waste Heat Recovery

The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system is an advanced waste heat recovery technology that converts excess heat from engines, exhaust gases, and other sources into usable energy. By utilizing an organic working fluid with a low boiling point, ORC systems can efficiently generate electricity or mechanical power, reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

ORC benefits for maritime applications:

  • Fuel Savings – Converts wasted thermal energy into useful power, improving overall efficiency.
  • Reduced Emissions – Lowers CO₂ output by decreasing reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Flexibility – Works with various heat sources, including engine exhaust, cooling water, and steam.
  • Low Maintenance – Uses a closed-loop system with minimal operational complexity.

Ship Resistance Reduction

We focus on innovative solutions to reduce ship resistance, leading to lower fuel costs and reduced emissions. Our key services include:

Bulbous bow replacement and slow steaming

Optimizing the bow shape to minimize wave formation and improve efficiency. Slow steaming reduces fuel consumption and emissions, as demonstrated by Wallenius Ship Management.

Air lubrication

Creating a layer of air bubbles under the hull to decrease friction and enhance efficiency. Methods include microbubble drag reduction, air layer drag reduction, and air cavity drag reduction.

Trust Goltens Green for expert guidance and installation of these technologies to ensure optimal ship performance and sustainability.

Route Optimization

Goltens collaborates with leading maritime technology providers to offer advanced voyage optimization solutions that improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance operational performance. Solutions include Qtagg’s EcoPilot weather routing platform, Marine Technologies’ Smart Ship and C-Connect systems, and Navalt’s Oceanix data-driven optimization platform.

Propeller Optimization

Enhancing maritime efficiency

At Goltens Green, we offer advanced propeller optimization solutions to improve the efficiency and performance of maritime vessels. Our services include the use of caps, nozzles/ducts, and other innovative technologies.

Emissions Monitoring

Goltens provides advanced Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) solutions through its partnerships with EMSYS and Protea, delivering accurate, real-time emissions data to support regulatory compliance, environmental reporting, and sustainability objectives. Goltens represents EMSYS globally with a focus on Offshore and Oil & Gas markets, while Protea solutions are supported in broader markets across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
