Parallel Dockings In Dubai Maritime City Provides Efficient Repair Solution For Red Sea Marine Services
Three Red Sea Marine Services offshore vessels, ANSAR 4, ANSAR 6 and ANSAR 13, all 6 year old crew & security vessels on charter for a Middle East Oil Major, required a special survey and maintenance / repair. Additionally, the ANSAR 13 required emergency repairs to propellers, shafts and gear boxes.
After reviewing the docking specifications Goltens recommended docking all the three vessels simultaneously with a 1 week time span between each vessel. Having the vessels side by side would allow an optimum utilization of specialist resources and equipment and save both time and cost. For the vessel owners this would also be convenient from a management and overseeing point of view (ref pictures to the right).

DRY DOCKING REPAIRS
- Pump Repairs
- Tail Shaft work including fitting of new forward and aft seals
- Coupling renewals
- Rudder stock repairs
- Gear box repairs including engine rigging and thruster work
- Line Boring of stern tubes
- Full exterior blasting and painting to WJ 2 Standard including main decks and hull. Hull was surface protected with anti- fouling coating
- Installation of shell insertions and renewal of external fenders
- Installation of new echo sounder system
ADDITIONAL WORK PERFORMED ON ANSAR 13:
- Removal and replacement of port, center and starboard propellers for specialist repairs
- Removal & replacement of all 3 tail shafts to check trueness
- Removal, repair and replacement of all 3 gear boxes
DRY DOCKING RESULTS
