Mr. Paul Friedberg, President, Goltens Worldwide Services added his charisma
to the event by becoming the the first and most distinguished delegate of
the International Conference on Shipping, Marine and Offshore Industry.
The concept of “First Delegate” is roughly related to the “Keel Laying”
ceremony of a ship which is considered as the most auspicious moment for the
project. “ShipTek” believes that its “First Delegate” is just like a firm
foundation of this project that will invite luck to the event.

Goltens Dubai
participated at the Gulf Maritime Exhibition held at the Expo Center
between 14th to 16th December 2009.
Gulf Maritime has sailed into its seventh edition on the success of the
previous shows that have cemented its reputation as the region's most
comprehensive maritime event. It is now counted as the best regional
platform that is capable of meeting the complete sourcing requirements of
the commercial, government, leisure and maritime industry in the Middle
East. Gulf Maritime is the longest running maritime event in the
Middle East with six successful editions held before. Since its debut in
2003, it has been held annually as a market-entry vehicle for international
suppliers. With the maturing of the regional maritime industry, Gulf
Maritime will now go biennial and will be held every two years, in the last
quarter of the odd years. A high quality conference addressing the
regional maritime challenges will be held alongside the exhibition. With the
new format, the exhibition is expected to expand in size with all the
regional & international suppliers taking part.
Goltens participated
successfully in the " 6th Contractors’ Health & Safety Seminar" held on 17th
Nov 2009 at Dry Docks World, Dubai. The theme for the event was “Delivering
the Safety Message, Management to Workforce". Goltens QHSE team drafted an
apt presentation titled " Empowering People…towards an interdependent
culture" for this important event. This presentation along with an
interesting short video titled " All for One The Meerkat Way" to demonstrate
the practical example of interdependent culture was shown to a very
enthusiastic crowd. The presentation & video was very well received by the
audience comprising of senior management representatives from about 20
various Marine service providers.
Empowering People towards interdependent culture is an innovative method
adopted at Goltens UAE targeting behavior based safety and shift in HSE
culture and has been a very successful tool in improvement of focus areas
like use of PPE, Risk assessments and Behavior Safety. The session was
followed by good networking opportunities to share the best HSE practices in
various organizations.
